Unfortunately, it is really hard to give any precise rules, so you can either learn from the examples above or use the prompts given below.
If you talk about your exact location and mention two streets, roads, avenues etc. in your sentence, you can use either "on" or "at" ("on/at the corner of A and B").
The phrase "in the corner" is often used when we talk about enclosed spaces like boxes, rooms, tents, cages or buildings. Sometimes you do not need to mention the name of the place because it is obvious where you are, so you say "I put it in the corner" but the meaning is "I put in the corner of the bedroom".
"On the corner" is not usually followed by "of" unless you talk about streets and roads. So you should say, e.g. "in the corner of the screen", not "on the corner of the screen".
